The Feast of St. Adrian of Canterbury

Though twice offered the Archbishopric of Canterbury, St. Adrian of Canterbury declined, stating he was not worthy of such a position.  Instead, he spent 40 years at the Monastery of Saints Peter and Paul in Canterbury as teacher and abbot where under his guidance, it became the center of English learning of its time and it produced many future bishops, abbots and saints.  He died in 710 and his tomb became a site of many miracles.  His body was found to be incorrupt in 1091.
