Cathedral of Saint Andrew to Celebrate
24 Hours for the Lord, a World Wide Initiative Called for by Pope Francis

Catholics in the Diocese of Grand Rapids have the opportunity to participate with Catholics from all over the world during 24 Hours for the Lord on March 4-5 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in downtown Grand Rapids. The 24 hour period is part of the initiatives of the Jubilee Holy Year of Mercy. Pope Francis is calling for all cathedrals throughout the world to open their doors for 24 hours and is inviting all individuals to receive the mercy of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. 24 Hours for the Lord is being kicked off by Pope Francis in the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square.
“This is an opportunity for individuals to experience the wonder of God’s Mercy,” said Very Rev. John Geaney, rector, Cathedral of Saint Andrew. “We are welcoming all individuals, especially those who have not experienced the Sacrament of Reconciliation in a while, to participate in 24 Hours for the Lord and discover all of what the Lord has to offer in individuals’ lives.”
In addition to Confessions, the Cathedral will host a Stations of the Cross service at 7 p.m. onMarch 4.

What: 24 Hours for the Lord – Sacrament of Reconciliation

• Confessions begin immediately following the 12:05 p.m. Mass on March 4 and end with the12:05 p.m. Mass on March 5.

• Stations of the Cross are scheduled for 7pm on March 4
