World-Renowned Traveler and Bestselling Author to Serve as Guest Preacher at Masses and Lead St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish’s Lenten Mission Programs March 8-10 in Grand Haven
―Series entitled “Signed and Sealed With the Cross”―
GRAND HAVEN, Mich., Jan. 13, 2015―In the Lenten season leading up to Easter, Fr. Albert Haase, OFM, world-renowned traveler, bestselling author, teacher and priest will journey to Grand Haven and serve as guest preacher at all weekend Masses, plus lead attendees in a special “Lenten Mission” from March 8 through March 10 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish.
Masses will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 8 at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Three special Lenten Mission programs will be held Sunday through Tuesday, March 8, 9 and 10, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish Church. The Parish is located at 920 Fulton Avenue in Grand Haven. The general public is welcome to attend all free programs.
Entitled “Signed and Sealed With the Cross,” St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish’s Lenten Mission series will help attendees explore the identity of God, as proclaimed in the ancient gesture of being signed with a cross.
“Each night of the Lenten Mission we will have an opening song, prayer, scriptural and gospel readings, plus inspirational preaching, along with a sign of peace, a blessing and closing song,” said Fr. Haase.
The topic of the first evening Mission program covers reflection and the unconditional love of God. Readings for night one include: Romans 8:14-17; and Luke 10:25-37.
The second evening program covers how individuals can find hope in the midst of difficult times. Readings for night two include: Romans 8:31b-32, 35, 37-39; and Matthew 14:22-33.
The third and final evening Mission program is about the Holy Spirit and what it means to be sent forth on a mission. Readings for night three include: Isaiah 11:1-3; and Luke 4:16-21.
“We will also explore the challenges and responsibilities we accept when we seal our lives with the sign of the cross.
