Strangers No Longer: Immigration and the Catholic Church

Catholic Church leaders, the USCCB and Pope Francis have called for each of us to put our faith into action by welcoming the stranger among us. Fr. Wayne will discuss the complicated topic of immigration that includes, "Immigration 101” (some background on the realities our country faces), Comprehensive Immigration Reform, and Catholic Social Teaching on Immigration. He will also address the fears and anxieties we are experiencing in our communities and the need to respond to these pastorally. This presentation will be primarily in English, with Spanish as needed. CFD: Evangelization ($10 donation suggested). This program will be live-streamed at catholicinformationcenter.org
Fr. Wayne Dziekan is a Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Gaylord and is the Director of the Secretariat for Justice and Peace for the Diocese. His principle work and passion is “in the trenches” with the immigrant community.
