Project Rachel Clinical Training Day, co-sponsored by CCWM, Archdiocese of Detroit and the diocese of Kalamazoo, Lansing and Saginaw.  Project Rachel Clinical Training Day will take place from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (at 2:00 p.m. there is a priests-only session)
When:  February 12, 2021

This virtual event will feature presentations addressing specific areas of healing after abortion, including trauma, shame, post-abortion stress, grief and how faith plays a role in healing. The day will also include a specific session for priests, stories from women and men who found healing through Project Rachel, and an overview of the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat model.

Intended Audience: Who is encouraged to Attend? Clergy, Religious, Social Workers, Therapists, counselors, parish nurses, pregnancy crisis center staff, pastoral care workers, spiritual directors, youth and young adult ministry workers and other interested individuals.
Suggested $25 donation
Tentative Schedule:
8:30 a.m. - Prayer, Welcome, Introductions, Project Rachel and Rachel's Vineyard Ministries
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Fr. Ken Schmidt | Trauma
10:30 - 11:30 am. - Deena Cantu-LaPres | Post Abortion Stress and Shame
11:30 – 12:30 p.m. - Sister Colleen Ann Nagle | Presentation will include how faith plays a role in healing
12:30 – 1:00 p.m. - Lunch break
1:00 – 1:30 p.m. - Witness talks from post-abortive couple and an individual
1:30 - 2:00 – Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat Overview and Project Rachel Referral Network
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Priest Panel Discussion (for Clergy only)
