Category: General The Second Vatican Council - How it Shaped the Church

Wed, 10/10

In October 1962 the Second Vatican Council opened in Vatican City. Many believe it to be the most significant religious event since the 16th Century. The Council produced 16 documents over a period of four years. Father Geaney will discuss three of the most important documents during the course: the Sacred Constitutions on Liturgy, the Church, and the Church in the Modern World. This three-week course will help guide the participants to a deeper understanding of their faith by discussing questions like: Is the theology of the Church a different theology today? How did the document on liturgy change the Mass and how do those changes help us in our relationship with God? Should the Catholic Church be involved in the normal political life of its people?
