Come join Aquinas College faculty from the Departments of Theology, History, and Economics for a stimulating discussion on the vision of progress in Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si'.

Each speaker on this interdisciplinary panel will respond to the question:  How do we assist the progress of local peoples and communities?  Dr. Robert Marko will address the spiritual and moral vision of Laudato Si' as a response to the ongoing call to full Christian development, or progress in holiness.  Dr. John Pinheiro will explore the historical idea of progress and Pope Francis' critique of the technocratic paradigm.  Is technological progress corrosive of traditional community life and local culture?  Dr. David Hebert will consider the economic and human aspects of progress in Laudato Si', especially in light of natural resource management and the need for local communities to be involved in sustainable resource management.

Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.  RSVP:  https://goo.gl/forms/ypX5008ZSVndZDDs1
