Category: General The Smart Phone of Prayer

Thu, 10/17

There are essentially four kinds of prayer: oral, mental, affective, contemplative. And in recent times Christians have been recovering from the 3rd century a form of prayer that weaves them all together into one. You might call it “the smart phone of prayer” because it has everything in it!
It’s called Lectio Divina (Latin: divine reading). It’s a process of praying with the Scriptures that enables the Word of God to become a means of union with God. Lectio has no other goal than spending time with God through the medium of God’s Word. That deepening communion with God is the invitation and adventure of our lives. Come and learn how to use it. You can even take it home and try it out—for free! Register to attend this class at the Catholic Information Center, Cathedral Square in Grand Rapids by calling 616-459-7267.
