We look forward to seeing you Thursday, September 3rd, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Grand Rapids. Dr. John Pinheiro professor of history and director of Catholic Studies at Aquinas College, Michigan will present the next lecture which is titled: “Anti-Catholicism and the American Identity" Dr. Pinheiro holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Tennessee, and co-edited volume 12 of the Presidential Series of the Papers of George Washington and is the author of Manifest Ambition: James K. Polk and Civil-Military Relations during the Mexican War. Consulting Editor on the Polk presidency for the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs, his publications also include articles on the early American republic in academic journals. Dr. Pinheiro's new book is Missionaries of Republicanism: A Religious History of the Mexican-American War, published by Oxford University Press.
