The Feast of Blessed Eurosia Fabris

Lack of a formal education did not hinder Mamma Rosa, as she was known, from her care of those in need, especially children.  As a teen she taught children the catechism and later began caring for two children whose mother died while they were toddlers. With her marriage came three step-daughters, nine children by birth and a home that was a natural gathering place for all the village’s children.  She was the core of her family in spiritual and practical matters and known for her charitable works.  Three of the nine children she bore became priests.  Her life and the love of home serves as an ideal Christian example of love of neighbor. She died at 66 in 1932 and was beatified in 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI.
